Materials Required:

• Ready-Mixed Concrete — Strip Foundation (Qty: 1.4 cubic metres)
  ST3 (C20) ready-mixed concrete, 20mm aggregate, suitable for strip foundations to BS 8500-2. Order minimum 1.4m³ — confirm with supplier minimum load charge.
• Engineering Bricks — Plinth / Below-DPC Course (Qty: 70 each)
  Class B engineering brick 215×65×102mm, blue or red, BS EN 771-1, low water absorption for below-DPC use.
• Facing Bricks — Main Wall (Qty: 1000 each)
  Standard facing brick 215×65×102mm, stretcher bond, frost-resistant (F2) designation to BS EN 771-1. Colour/texture to be agreed with client.
• Facing Bricks — Intermediate Piers (×3) (Qty: 130 each)
  Matching facing brick 215×65×102mm, frost-resistant F2, to match main wall. Piers bonded into wall at 3m centres.
• Coping Bricks — Wall Top (Qty: 55 each)
  Twice-weathered or bull-nosed coping brick 215×65×102mm, frost-resistant F2, to match or complement facing bricks. Alternatively proprietary concrete coping 300mm wide may be substituted.
• Damp Proof Course (DPC) Strip (Qty: 11 linear metres)
  Polythene DPC strip 112mm wide (half-brick wall width), 500 micron, to BS 6515. Bedded in mortar at ground level on top of engineering brick plinth course.
• Cement — Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) (Qty: 25 bags)
  25kg bags Ordinary Portland Cement to BS EN 197-1 CEM I 42.5N. For 1:5 mortar mix throughout brickwork and coping.
• Building Sand (Soft Sand) (Qty: 3 tonnes)
  Washed building sand (soft sand) for brickwork mortar, BS EN 13139. Delivered loose or in bulk bags. Do not substitute sharp sand.
• Plasticiser / Mortar Admixture (Qty: 5 litres)
  Liquid mortar plasticiser e.g. Febmix or equivalent, to improve workability of 1:5 mortar mix. Use at manufacturer’s recommended dosage rate.
• Wall Ties — Pier-to-Wall Ties (Qty: 50 each)
  Stainless steel flat or butterfly wall tie 200mm × 20mm to BS EN 845-1, for tying intermediate piers into main wall skin at every other course.
• Mortar Pigment (optional colour match) (Qty: 2 kg)
  Powder mortar pigment to BS EN 12878 if coloured mortar joints required to match existing site brickwork. Confirm colour with client before ordering.
• Bricklayer’s Line and Pins (Qty: 2 each)
  Steel line pins with nylon bricklayer’s line, for maintaining course level and alignment throughout build.
• Timber Profiles / Corner Profiles (Qty: 4 each)
  Timber profile boards 50×25mm PAR softwood, 1.8m long, for setting out foundation and wall line at each end and at pier positions.
• Capping / Pointing Mortar — Weatherstruck Finish (Qty: 2 bags)
  Pre-mixed pointing mortar or use site-mixed 1:4 OPC:building sand for weatherstruck pointing to coping course and any open joints on completion. Already largely covered in cement/sand quantities above — these 2 bags are a finishing allowance.
