Job Description / Notes:
Need to remove existing raised Decking to a distance that the planning authority have ordered it to be. From the doors the new extension of decking will be 92 cm and we will be removing 2 m 12 cm. We will require four new and posts and post Crete to fix in the new end. All timber that is to be taken up will be stacked to one side for future use for the client existing handrail and spindles will be reused to create a new end of the Decking
Materials Required:
- Deck posts 100×100mm pressure-treated 2.4m (Qty: 4 each)
100×100mm regularised pressure-treated C16 timber posts, length to suit existing deck height plus 600mm ground embedment — customer to confirm finished deck height to determine post length required - Postcrete fast-setting post mix (Qty: 8 bags)
20kg bags Postcrete or equivalent fast-setting concrete post mix - Rim/end bearer timber 47×150mm C16 pressure-treated (Qty: 4.8 linear metres)
47×150mm regularised pressure-treated C16 structural timber for new end bearer/trimmer spanning across the 4 new posts - Joist hangers galvanised (Qty: 8 each)
Galvanised joist hangers to suit 47×100mm joists, e.g. Simpson Strong-Tie LUS or equivalent - Stainless steel decking screws 4.5×65mm (Qty: 1 boxes)
A2 stainless steel countersunk decking screws 4.5×65mm, box of 200 — for re-fixing any disturbed deck boards at the new cut line and securing new end frame timbers - Structural screws / coach screws 6×100mm (Qty: 2 packs)
Hot-dip galvanised or stainless structural screws 6×100mm (e.g. Spax or Timco) for post-to-bearer and bearer-to-joist connections
